As part of the European program PARADISO: “Participatory Approach for Raising Awareness and fighting Discrimination against Sexual and gender Orientation in the healthcare sector”, an educational seminar is organised, with the title «LGBTQI people in the health sector: access, rights, care, challenges».
The aim of the program is to create an inclusive and safe environment for LGBTQΙ people and to combat discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in the health sector, through participatory educational activities for health professionals.
The seminar covers basic issues related to the health of LGBTQI people, such as: terminology, human rights and legal framework, issues relevant to primary care, sexual and reproductive health, and mental health.
The seminar is aimed at health professionals from hospitals, health centres (doctors, psychologists, social workers, nurses, midwives), administrative and assistive staff, as well as freelance professionals, and will take place in the National School of Public Health, Alexandra’s Avenue 196, Athens, on 14-15 December 2018.
The number of participants will not exceed 50. In case we receive more than 50 applications, participants will accepted be on first come, first served basis. Participation in the seminar is free and all participants will receive a Participation Certificate.
